Adult Dance Class FAQs, DivaDance Austin

Do I need dance experience to take classes at DivaDance Austin?

No experience required. Every class is beginner-friendly, and our instructors break down every move step by step. Most clients walk in having never taken a dance class as an adult. We teach pop choreography, hip hop, heels, and dance cardio at a pace anyone can follow.

Where are DivaDance Austin classes held?

We have two Central Austin studios. DivaDance HQ Flagship is at 3823 Airport Blvd, Suite D (78722). Balance Dance Studios at 4544 S Lamar Blvd #200 (78745) is our second home. Both are easy to find and full of good lighting and even better playlists.

How much does a class at DivaDance Austin cost?

New clients start with our Two Week Trial: unlimited classes for $59. After that, you have options. A single drop-in is $30. A 10 class pass is $229. If you want unlimited monthly, our membership starts at $109 a month on the 12-month Platinum plan, $129 on the 6-month Gold, or $159 month-to-month. All memberships have a $59 enrollment fee. Most clients pick the trial first, see how much they love it, and pick a membership from there.

What should I wear to my first DivaDance class?

Anything you can move in. Leggings, a tank top or sports bra, and sneakers you can pivot in. No dance shoes or special gear required. Just bring water and an open mind.

What if I don't feel coordinated?

Almost every client says some version of this on day one. Our instructors teach in layers. You'll learn the first 8 counts, then add 8 more, then string it together. By the end of class you'll be performing choreography you didn't think you could do an hour earlier. That's the whole point.

What types of dance classes does DivaDance Austin teach?

Three class types. Core is our original 60-minute pop choreography class, including hip hop and heels. NonStop is our 45-minute follow-the-leader dance cardio party. DanceRx is a 75-minute self-care class with journaling, breathwork, and lyrical choreography. All adult-only, all beginner-friendly, all designed to leave you feeling like the main character.

Does DivaDance Austin teach ballet, tap, jazz, salsa, or Zumba?

No. DivaDance Austin focuses on adult pop choreography, hip hop, heels, and dance cardio. If you're looking for ballet, tap, jazz, salsa, or Zumba, Austin has wonderful studios for those styles. We do the choreography part: learning a routine to your favorite song, performing it together, and walking out with a video clip you'll actually want to share.

Will I be sore after my first class?

Probably a little, especially in the legs and core. Most classes burn 400 to 500 calories per hour and use muscles you don't typically hit at the gym. The soreness fades within a day or two. It's the good kind, the kind that means you actually showed up.

Can I host a bachelorette party at DivaDance Austin?

Yes, and bachelorette parties are one of the most fun things we do. Three package options. Basic is $300 for a 45-minute class with original choreography to a song the bride picks and a group photo on our Instagram. Mini-Premium is $400 for 60 minutes and adds a champagne toast. Premium is $500 for 90 minutes and adds a photo backdrop, props, and dedicated paparazzi staff to capture the whole thing. All packages cover up to 10 people. Additional guests are $30 to $50 each depending on package.

Can my Austin company book a team-building dance class?

Yes. The same three packages work for company team-building. Basic at $300, Mini-Premium at $400, or Premium at $500, all covering up to 10 people. We work with Austin tech teams, HR groups, and creative agencies looking for something different. The shared experience of learning choreography together does more for team bonding than another happy hour ever will.
